WJPS welcomes a new assistant principal, Mr. Yarmy this year.. WJPS looked to hire a new assistant principal following the retirement of former assistant principal, Ms. Poulos. 

Before Mr. Yarmy arrived at WJPS he taught in schools in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He chose this school as his best option and stated, “I really like this school mission. I like the fact that the school is very student centered, student focused, and I love the fact that students are involved.”

Mr. Yarmy said his teaching philosophy was to make sure students enjoyed their time not just in activities, but in the classroom as well. “I believe that I can help make learning more interesting and fun for the students so they can stay focused and on task.”

Fellow WJPS assistant principal, Mr. Petrotta said of Mr. Yarmy, “He came to us with a lot of experience, He’s got a great approach to students when it comes to teaching and he will be a perfect fit for the WJPS family.” 

Mr. Yarmy’s new office is in room 309.
