Originally released in August 2020, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a platform battle royal game that was originally released for Microsoft Windows and Playstation 4. However, after the developer, Mediatonic, was acquired by Epic Games in 2022, Fall Guys will be free on all platforms, including Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and the Epic Games Store, on June 21st.

WJPS teacher, Mr. Van Deurs, said, “I’m excited because I have a lot of friends who have switches, and I have a computer where cross-play isn’t available. With Fall Guys being cross-platform and coming out on the switch, I will be able to play with different friends.”

A senior at WJPS, Alvin Zeng, said, “Fall Guys becoming free to play for all is an advancement that not only sets an example for many games and initiates a plan to satisfy both new and old players.”

With up to 60 players online going against each other to be the last one standing, players go through obstacle courses to see who finishes first. Although the game is being delisted from Steam, meaning it’s being taken off of the Steam Store where players originally bought the game, it shouldn’t affect existing players.
