My Hero Academia Goes International

My+Hero+Academia+Goes+International

During the past few months, it was announced that the new movie “My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission” would have a limited run in movie theaters worldwide.

This movie introduces new characters expanding the anime into other parts of the world other than Japan. This expansion has been done more extensively in the manga, but only briefly in the anime.

The story takes the time to not only properly expand on new characters such as Rhodey who ends up tied into the main conflict and mission in a brilliant bit of storytelling, but to also serve the main storyline while doing this and utilizing all the different locations in the story such as France, Egypt, and America and the many pro heroes and U.A. students we know and love.

WJPS Spanish teacher Mr. Reff said, “I like the direction that the show is going. The backstory of all the new characters is interesting and the whole hero world.”

The source of the story’s main conflict arises from a group of villains newly introduced to the anime known as Humanarise, following the same easy-to-understand, flawed ideology as a previous villain from the series.

WJPS senior Michael Jurasic, said, “I am not a big fan of his thinking, it was well thought out, but it definitely could have been better. But due to the writers wanting the heroes to win, they had to make Overall’s plan not as great as it could have been.”

The utilization of both the mentality of a past villain being brought back alongside characters from the past, with a new storyline, locations, and characters, expands the world of My Hero Academia as we know it is a beautiful and effective way, letting us enjoy and sympathize with the new characters long after the movie is over.
