Pop Smoke

American rapper Pop Smoke

Rapper Pop Smoke, otherwise known as Bashar Barakah Jackson, recently died from a gunshot robbery at his house in Los Angeles, California.

He was a popular rapper around the world, especially in New York. His fame rose from his song, “Welcome to The Party,” which many teens and young adults listened to at parties.

He was featured on many songs with a lot of other rappers such as Christian Dior and DaBaby.

Pop Smoke was interviewed online in a YouTube series called “Genious” asking about what his life story was and what his music is supposed to mean.

WJPS freshman Thomas Aiello said, “He was a great rapper and had a lot of good and catchy songs he was gone too soon.”

WJPS sophomore, Derek Chin said, “He was one of my favorite rappers and I heard him at every party I went too, he was a person that usually got everybody hype.”
