Do Grades Represent Our Intelligence?

Do+Grades+Represent+Our+Intelligence%3F

Millions of students around the world struggle to keep up with the rigorous work ethic required to have good grades even though they are intelligent in their own way. Although students work hard, their intelligence is not always reflected in their grades.

“I feel like grades just represent how good you are at cheating or memorization,” said WJPS Junior David Anteanor.

“I feel like grades represent how good you are at memorizing or homework-wise you’re good at taking notes and then kids forget it so the grades don’t really show their actual knowledge,” said WJPS Junior Zoe Weisman

WJPS sophomore Cayla Jordan said, “Grades don’t represent your intelligence because some people could be bad test takers or they could be bad at school in general or have street smarts.”

“Grades do represent your intelligence because grades determine what college that you’re going to and there is a greater chance of getting into the career you that you want to,” said WJPS sophomore Alvin Zheng.

You can have one of the brightest and creative minds of the century and still not have the best grades. I don’t think grades measure our intelligence because there are so many other things outside of school that you can be great at doing.
