Secure, Contain, Protect. An overview of The SCP Foundation

Secure%2C+Contain%2C+Protect.+An+overview+of+The+SCP+Foundation

Secure, Contain, Protect. This is the unofficial motto of The SCP Foundation, a global organization with the task of securing and containing anomalous (Non-Normal) creatures and items in order to protect normal civilian life, sometimes across multiple universes.

The SCP Wiki is a website, holding knowledge of these items (called SCPs), cataloged, described, and tested in attempts to see how they work, and in rare occurrences, how to destroy them.

The Foundation currently has almost 4999 SCPs in containment, with three safety ratings. These are “Safe” (Easy to contain with minimal issues), “euclid” (Needing more resources/accurate information), and “keter” (Difficult to contain, with its escape possibly leading to the end of the world).

These SCPs are all different in nature, such as a hateful lizard that adapts to protect itself(SCP-682), or even a shapeless blob that attempts to make all living beings feel happy (SCP-999).

These SCPs may also have the ability to edit our world to their liking.

The SCP Foundation also has many storylines , such as the Broken Masquerade, in which The Foundation failed to stay secret, leading to global knowledge of anomalous items.

Many Groups Of Interest (GOIs) also exist, such as The Chaos Insurgency, a group composed of ex-Foundation workers that wish to use anomalies for power.

(Disclaimer: The SCP Wiki is fictional.)
