Guitar Hero is a game that originally was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. The game was developed by RedOctane and Harmonix. It was released on many different consoles from the Xbox 360, to the WiiU. There were 10 major releases of the games, with the most popular being Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

The Guitar Hero games highly recommend a specific controller to play the game. The controller is guitar-shaped and has five colored fret buttons, a strum bar, and a whammy bar. On the screen, the game shows a series of notes to match the guitar notes in the song. With each note, you press the corresponding button that matches on-screen and strum.

This game consists of a cover band performing at different venues that progressively gets better. There are four difficulties to choose from: easy, medium, hard, and expert. In some other games, there’s also a beginner difficulty which consists of only strumming.

In the game, you have the opportunity to start a career, and with each difficulty, you make more money to spend on in-game cosmetics such as new guitars and different characters to play as. With some of the characters, you can change their outfits to your liking.
