2019 NBA Free-Agency Moves

2019 NBA Free-Agency Moves

The NBA has become more interesting after the 2019 free agency period was completed.

Kawhi Leonard left the Toronto Raptors after winning a championship to join the LA Clippers in a four year deal, to be followed by six-time NBA All-Star, Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in L.A. in another four year contract.

The Lakers added another superstar to their roster, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins for a year. The Warriors agreed with D’Angelo Russell to a four year contract and re-signed Klay Thompson for the five-year, $190 million max after his injury in last year’s playoffs.

Kevin Durant is expected to miss the 2019-2020 season, however he signed a four-year $164 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, with Kyrie Irving joining him for another four-year $141 million contract. Finally, James Harden will be playing alongside the eight-time All-Star guard Russell Westbrook for the Houston Rockets.

However, these were not the only big moves in this NBA free agency period. Jimmy Butler and Kemba Walker signed for four years with the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez will continue playing with Antetokounmpo, for the Bucks, for four more years and Kristaps Porzingis signed with the Dallas Mavericks after he missed the entire 2018-19 season due to a torn ACL.
