World Journalism Preparatory School recently held a trip to St. John’s University. The purpose was to show the Class of 2020 what to expect from a college campus.
Once the tour of the campus was complete, the students watched the St. John’s Red Storm women’s basketball team compete against Providence Friars women’s team. The game managed to go into overtime.
At the end of the fourth quarter, one of the players shot three-pointer to tie up the game. At the end of the first OT, St. John’s was down again by three. However, one of their guards got fouled at the three point line and was given three shots to tie the game.
The Providence Friars ended up winning the game 67-66.
“The energy in the arena was crazy, clearly everyone is here loves St. Johns,”said WJPS junior, Charlie LoMonaco.
“This was one of the best trips we got to have so far, we were able to see the campus, get an idea for college, and we were able to see a great game. I would definitely come back to see another game,” said WJPS junior, Kevin Sosa.
