Junior Trip To QCC

On November 9th, the 11th grade of World Journalism Preparatory School went on a trip to Queensborough Community College. The trip was to see a theater production of The Taming, an adaption of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.

This play was a comedy and was performed by students of QCC. This trip lasted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 AM. After the play was over, the students were allowed to explore the campus for a short period of time and enjoy their lunch.

“In all honesty, I liked the concept and the idea of independence and equality, however I strongly believe that this play was not organized correctly,” said junior student Yamani Thomas when she was asked about the production.

“The actors were very enthusiastic about their roles they put in 110%into their roles, it was an interesting take on an old topic” said WJPS history teacher, Mr. Thompson

WJPS junior Danna Nunez said “I honestly and whole-heartedly think that this play was a poor representation of the actual Shakespeare play, but I do enjoy the efforts they put in.”

“I feel like it was a waste of time and I feel like we could have used that time more productively in class than watching a show that doesn’t relate to anything we are learning in class or in school,” says junior student Steven Palaguachi.
