Former Full House actress, Jodie Sweetin, performed an emotional dance on this season of Dancing with the Stars.
Sweetin was addicted to drugs and alcohol after the show Full House ended. She told her Dancing with the Stars partner, Keo Motsepe, about it.
In an interview with US Weekly, she said, “It was a huge shift in my life. Everything I had known from the time I was 5 years old suddenly ended and it was like saying goodbye to a family I had loved very, very much.”
During an interview with Motsepe about her troubled years after Full House, she stated, “At such a young age, it really was a huge loss for me. I didn’t know how to grieve.”
Sweetin turned to cocaine, ecstasy, alcohol, and a variety of other drugs in order to help her cope with the show ending. She revealed that it was the darkest moment of her life and she hated the person she was becoming.
“I like how her performance resembled her strength and also her struggle,” junior Elizabeth Browne said.
Sweetin has been sober for 5 years now. She has two kids and is engaged to Justin Hodak. She is also part of the show the Fuller House, which is a sequel to Full House. The first season is currently up on Netflix.
