Ms.Katz and her Knitting club are a group of young knitters, which may seem strange that there exists a whole bunch of teens that spend their afternoons knitting and talking about events in the school and everything else under the sun.
“At first it’s confusing but [after] the first couple minutes it was really easy to get into the swing of things and to understand how to knit and how to purl,” junior Kailey Bosyk says.
Knitting might seem like it’s just for the older people, but people like Ms.Katz and the club members see knitting as much more than a hobby for the elderly.
“I think knitting is something that most people have not bothered to learn and it’s a useful skill it’s fun for me it gives me something to do with my hands while i watch T.V so i don’t eat a snack, so i feel like giving kids that kind of skill is helpful for when they have kids or when they have grand kids it’s something fun that’s also useful…its multipurpose,” Knitting Club advisor Ms. Katz said.
“It’s a way for me to relax and spend time with my friends,” freshman Medina Surajpal said.
