There has been a new change in staff for los blancos this weekend as the president of the club (Florentino Perez) lets go of their head coach Rafa Benitez.
Benitez has been fired from the coaching job as he lead Real Madrid into a below average season. The new coach was only put in charge less than seven months ago but was put into a major speculation when suffering a huge defeat to their bitter rivals FC Barcelona as they outscore them 4-0. The team recently tied 2-2 against Valencia losing the lead twice in the game. The outcome of the game has left the spaniards giants into 3rd place for the fight of the title race in La Liga. As Atletico Madrid has now skipped past them to 2nd place while Fc Barcelona remains on top of the table.
“I would like to wish good luck to Zinedine Zidane,my successor, and his staff. To all the players, coaches and staff in both Valdebebas and Bernabéu, I wish all the best and also good luck. With all my respect and thanks… HALA MADRID and NOTHING ELSE,” former coach Rafa Benitez said on his official page.
This is the second time this year Perez has fired the head coach. He has now assigned the new coaching job to assistant coach to Zinedine Zidane, a real madrid legend. The Frenchman is a real madrid legend and is referred to as one of the best strikers in history for the club. But many have doubted his new position due to lack of experience.
“The firing of Rafa Benitez is indifferent to me. He wasn’t real madrid material to begin with in my opinion, but I also feel like that Zinedine is ready and hasn’t proved himself,” senior Jonah Sampedro said.
