Senior year is the most important year for many students in High school. It is the last year the seniors are ever going to be in high school. Creating final memories that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
A yearbook is made to be filled with the many memories from elementary schools, middle, and high schools. It’s a recording of events, with pictures of students and faculty, that occurred that year.
“I personally feel like the middle school and high school should get two separate yearbook. I want my memories with my friends just like I got one in middle school,” junior Kailey Bosyk said.
This does not include middle school/high school in one book because it would be way too much for one book. The size of it is unnecessary and will defeat the purpose of a “yearbook”. A book for a graduating class for that year.
“I understand why Ms.Schneider wants it to include both middle school and high school, we are a “community” but I think that a yearbook should be the class that is graduating. It is their year and they deserve an exclusive yearbook to themselves,” senior Barbara Kasomenakis said.
Based on only the middle schoolers, opinions on a mixed yearbook would be fantastic. But based on a highschoolers opinion, a mixed yearbook would ruin the whole point of the seniors yearbook.
“I think it should be mixed because both high schoolers and middle schoolers want to be in the yearbook with their friends and all. I agree with including middle schoolers in it but I think that there should be more high school stuff in it because it’s their yearbook,” seventh grader Julia Ragoussis said.
The middle school senior class have the 8th graders as their graduating class for that school’s year. The 12th graders at a high school are the seniors, and graduating class of a high school. If the yearbook does feature both high school and middle school students it would not be a yearbook for a graduating class but for graduating classes from two different schools.
