On April 2nd more information about the Switch 2, Nintendo’s upcoming console, will be announced during the “Nintendo Direct.” The information that will be provided will be about the exact release date and specific differences between the Switch 1 and 2.
First released in 2017, the Nintendo Switch became the third best selling console of all time. It was a change, as it was the first console that can be used both hand-held and connected to a display.
Now, after eight years, the switch gets a sequel. On January 16th, it was announced that later this year the Switch 2 would be released.
It will be compatible with original Switch games. This means that anyone who has original Switch games will be able to transfer over their data and continue playing on their Switch 2.
WJPS 12th grader Vanessa Arellano said, “I don’t think much of a difference will be shown from Switch 1 to Switch 2. I think this is mainly just to get more people to buy their console.”
WJPS 12th grader Dante Lobosco said, “I really do hope that they continue to release switch 2 games for the Switch 1. I don’t want to buy an entire new console just to get games.”
