On January 19th, TikTok was shut down for all users in the United States. The app wasn’t working, and users were not able to reload new videos.
The app had also been removed from the app store, so if someone deleted the app completely, there was no way of getting it back in the United States.
This ban only lasted a couple of hours as some users were starting to see the app was working again.
President Trump had signed an executive order to put a pause on the ban.
As of right now, the app is still up and running after getting shut down for a few hours and is back on the app store.
Users of TikTok don’t know if this is temporary or permanent.
Ever since President Trump signed his executive order, there have been no signs of TikTok glitching or seeming like it will shut down again.
11th grader Eleni Tsiakas said, “I don’t think the app is going to get banned anytime soon again.”
11th grader Panagiota Sfeliniotis said, “When the app shut down for a few hours, I knew it was only going to be temporary.”
