Released earlier this year, Dog Man made more than 40 million dollars globally on its opening week, surpassing its budget.
The movie is produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures and is directed by Peter Hastings, bringing Pilkey’s graphic novel series to life.
Dog Man follows a police dog and his human partner who get fused together after an accident, becoming the half-dog, half-human crime fighter. Fans of the books will recognize many familiar scenes, animated and shown on the big screen.
WJPS 12th grader Lilah Freeman said, “I think it’s good because I remember seeing the book in scholastic book fairs and it helps the new generation of kids to expand.”
WJPS 12th grader Lorie White said, “It’s not quite something I would find myself watching, but it seems like a kid appropriate movie so it would be good for younger audiences.”
