Stavros Kritsovas is an eighth grader at WJPS and he plays for the WJPS middle school basketball team. He is number 20.
Kritsovas is a starter for the team as he plays for almost the entirety of each game. He is also the top scorer for the team with the highest point average,
Kritsovas said, “My favorite thing about playing for the middle school team is playing basketball more and more while also trying to help my school succeed.”
The team plays games one to two times a week while it is either being at the World Journalism Preparatory gym or it being an away game at an opposing school.
Ms. Smith, the head coach, said, “My favorite thing about coaching them is seeing the improvement over the last three years from my returning players.”
Kritsovas is the playmaker for the team. The ball goes through him most plays whether he takes the ball up the court or the ball is passed to him. Often he takes the shot.
