Here at WJPS, during lunch periods, our school gives students the opportunity to buy a variety of snacks. This is great for students who don’t eat the cafeteria food or would like a snack.
However, instead of paying cash, there could be a new way of purchasing drinks and snacks, like a tap-to-pay terminal. This machine will allow all students to make payments by tapping their credit cards, debit cards, smartphones, and smartwatches.
Both Apple and Android users can take part in this payment method. Apple users can use Apple Pay directly from their devices, while Android users can set up Google Pay or other compatible mobile wallets on their phones.
In the future WJPS can add this machine to our school store and make students’ lives easier by providing them an alternative to bringing their lunch money.
WJPS teacher Mr. Thompson said, “I think it’s a great idea to add a tap-to-pay terminal to the school store. The school store will definitely benefit from selling more snacks, and students won’t have to worry about forgetting their lunch money.”
WJPS 10th grader Caleb Jaquez said, “I personally buy from the school store frequently, so I do think adding this machine will help students that don’t carry cash.”
