Preston Ng is a 12th grader at WJPS and a wrestler for Francis Lewis High School. This is his second year wrestling for the team, but this year he is more active as he is attending more and more matches.
Ng said, “I enjoy the people on the team and the excitement I get when we wrestle against other schools.” He also said, “The hardest thing is cutting weight. It is hard to not drink water or eat food for a long period of time.”
You need to make a certain weight per match based on your weight class. You could be overweight which means you have to cut or you could be underweight which means you have to add bulk.
A teammate of Ng’s, 12th grader Andre Gordon, said, “Preston is a hard worker. He is usually my training partner at practice and he always pushes me even when I’m tired. He is one of the hardest workers in the room at practice.”
