School Wi-Fi issues can disrupt the flow of lessons, making it difficult for both teachers and students to stay engaged.
Considering we all are in a technological educational environment, teachers and students need the internet for online resources such as Google Classroom, Google Docs, and research.
When Wi-Fi is slow or unreliable, these sites may not load properly, leaving students unable to do their classwork. This forces the class to either wait for the connection to stabilize or proceed without important materials.
In most classrooms, students are asked to use their devices for activities such as group projects, research, or interactive exercises. If students are unable to do their assignments, they can fall behind or miss out on key learning opportunities.
WJPS teacher Mr. Myrtil said, “Because you’re students of DOE, the content filter protects us from accessing negative content. The DOE has a bunch of safety regulations, so it has to load and download before you’re able to log in.”
WJPS senior Jane Castrejon said, “I do think the WiFi can be better. It takes me a while to log on for timed writing assignments, and I have to make it up another day.”
The bottom line, is that the internet at WJPS needs to be faster and more reliable.
