Part two of Wicked has just been announced; making it less than a week after the first movie has been out in theaters.
The date for part two is November 21st, 2025 which is one day short of a year after Wicked part one was released in theaters.
Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo as the witch of the west, Ariana Grande as the good witch, and Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero.
This decision to split the movie in two parts was made after struggles in production when trying to figure out what parts of the original should be adapted or cut into this new version.
The movie has climbed up to be a global hit and made more than 350 million dollars in the box office.
WJPS 11th grader Samantha Almonte stated, “I would for sure go watch the second Wicked movie because I loved the musical and the actors in this movie are just amazing.”
WJPS 11th grader Joseph Weir said, “As a person who’s watched the play Wicked, I am intrigued by the fact they are making a movie. I plan to see the second movie when it comes out in theaters.”
