Ms. Leto is a teacher at World Journalism Preparatory School and she is also the girls varsity soccer coach for Francis Lewis High School.
This year she was also the coach for the senior match, which was a showcase that featured the top players across the city.
Ms. Leto selected 22 players from Queens, Bronx and Staten Island while the other team selected players from Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Students are selected based on grades, statistics, and ability.
Ms. Leto said, “We look at the nominations that were sent to us, we read the coaches feedback, we try our best to choose players from each division and each borough who can be represented to help the team succeed.”
WJPS 10th grader and Francis Lewis soccer player Mariana Martinez said, “Ms. Leto is a good and educated coach that knows when to tell us about our mistakes and how to fix them. She also helps boost our confidence throughout the games.”
