John Mihalios, a WJPS 12th grader is a player for the Francis Lewis High School varsity baseball team. He plays first base, third base and also pitcher if needed.
Mihalios is very passionate about the sport and loves it. He stated, “When I was young I always loved watching and playing baseball, that’s why I chose to pursue it in high school. It’s a sport I was always best at when I was growing up, my dad and I used to always practice every day and it has very good sportsmanship.”
The high school baseball season doesn’t start until spring, but he has practice with the rest of the team two to three times a week.
WJPS 12th grader Jordan Juarez, one of John’s teammates, stated, “He is a great team player and teammate and brings positive energy to the team. John is a great addition to the team and he supports the team on and off the field.”
