The tipping culture in America has gone way too far. When you go out to eat with either family or friends, or even by yourself, you shouldn’t have to feel pressured to pay extra money for a tip.
People often feel required to tip waiters/waitresses due to the culture making people believe that tips are mandatory.
WJPS teacher, Ms. Munekwitz said, “I think between 15% and 20% is good but, it’s based on their service. It should be a part of their wage.”
WJPS eighth grader, Olivia Ortiz said, “I feel the tip amount should be based on the service.”
Tipping culture has made people believe or feel that they are obligated to tip a waiter/waitress even if the service was not up to their liking.
Tipping doesn’t only apply to waiters/waitresses. Often there is a tip jar or a selection on Apple Pay even when you are simply paying at the counter for takeout food.
Tips should be included in the price of the product.
