Here comes March as the madness begins on the 23rd. There will be 64 teams entering the tournament and there will only be one winner.
WJPS 11th grader John Mihalios was asked who will win the bracket, “Purdue because I feel like this is the year they get over the hump and I think Zach Edey will be dominant in this bracket.”
He was then asked about his reaction to these big upsets, “Upsets are bound to happen every year, it just depends on who is gonna make Cinderella run each year.”
The selection of the 64 teams will be made on March 17 and will decide each team rank on the bracket.
Last year’s winner was UConn who defeated San Diego State 76-59 in the championship. UConn looks to go back to back as they are one of the top teams again in college.
Also this year will contain a New York team from Staten Island, Wagner, who beat Howard in a play-in-game to advance.
