WJPS sponsored a holiday toy drive with Mended Little Hearts.
Mended Little Hearts is a non-profit organization for sick children in need. The organization provides care and treatment for children with heart conditions and defects.
The toy drive boxes were next to the elevators, where students and staff gifted new toys, books, games, and activities.
WJPS 12th grader, Demian Kwon shared, “It’s a nice thing that the school does this, I think that we should be able to donate more than toys to help out children in need. Also it’s good that our school does this often and advertises it well throughout the school.”
WJPS 12th grader, Punnapa Lou said, “We should do it more often since it’s really important for us to support them. As well as to let them know that they are not alone.”
Ages range from birth to 18, for those who will be receiving the gifts. The toys will be donated to the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at Columbia Presbyterian.
