WJPS uses a lot of technology: iPads, laptops, and smartboards. The responsibility of submitting most of our assignments relies on submitting the work to Google Classroom, which can be difficult when our school’s WiFi is frustrating to work with.
WJPS students have complained about the challenges the school WiFi has brought them. Some of the difficulties affect our classwork time, our testing time and even affect the overall time we have to do necessary work.
Students who don’t have a laptop or computer at home would have trouble with getting the work they need to do online done because of the time wasted in class trying to fix or change the laptop they are currently using. This is due to the poor WiFi connection.
Claudia Lopez, an 11th grade WJPS student said, “I’m not on the school WiFi because it is bad, and you get no service in a lot of places. So they should upgrade that.”
Angelice Garcia, a 12th grade WJPS student said, “It wasn’t really stressing dealing with the WiFi when I was a lowerclassmen, but now that I’m older it’s annoying knowing I’ll have a obstacle when trying to just do my work.”
This could be fixed by letting students bring a school laptop home with them so the work they were unable to do in school can be finished at home on their personal WiFi.
