Is it important for students to put their mental health before school?
Many students associate school with keeping up good grades and having a stable educational history. These factors may sound like a fantastic route, but they may end up deteriorating the mental health of the affected students.
This ongoing issue is expected within some students, especially knowing that their future depends on how well they do in school. Students should put their mental health before school, so their ongoing streak of having good grades won’t fall faster than creating it.
WJPS teacher Ms. Patritti said, “Mental health is very important, and if you’re not doing well mentally, then it will be very challenging to do well in school. Mental health and school both go hand and hand. If you’re struggling in school, your mental health won’t be good. If you’re struggling mentally, then your school performance won’t be as stable as well.”
WJPS senior Ashinda Fowler said, “How I feel and how I’m dealing with personal things affects my performance in school. Having good grades is good but dealing with your mental health is more important.”
