The first round of progress reports have been sent out. Some say they’re helpful, others say they cause added stress.
Unlike the past, when progress reports would be mailed out to students’ homes, parents and students can now access progress reports through the grading system used at WJPS, PupilPath.
“I think progress reports are stressful because if you see a grade that is not good, it could be frustrating. It should either be a report card or nothing at all,” commented WJPS senior, Katherine Pappas.
“They probably give students more pressure to turn in assignments, as instead of having a whole semester to turn in your work, you have a week or two so that progress report grades get submitted on time, which could be overwhelming for some students,” stated Isabella Brosi, a junior at WJPS.
“In my opinion, they cause stress to students, however the stress motivates them to have a better performance in school, so I guess they are a little useful. Also, they are more convenient for parents so that they can see their child’s grades and how they’re doing,” said Emily Falsone, a WJPS junior.
