The weather is getting colder and leaves are starting to switch colors, swirling to the ground. Fall is in the air and some students at WJPS are planning fall activities.
The WJPS Fashion Club is planning a Rake to Fall, where the community and students have an opportunity to rake leaves for neighboring houses. This could allow the students to engage with the community and form a bond of some sort.
“We’re currently planning to either make birdhouses or paint pumpkins with the student government. We’re also planning on raking lawns in the neighborhood,” said Nyla Briones, WJPS senior.
Others could have something else more important to worry about.
“I’ve been busy with college applications this week so I don’t think I have anything planned as of yet. However, I’m on the Francis Lewis tennis team and the playoffs just started. I’m glad you got to me now because we just won our first match into the playoffs season which brings FLHS into the quarterfinals!” said Stefany Lin.
With COVID still around, students would probably still need to be required to wear masks and social distance even during the fall activities, for a safer environment.
