Recently, the WiFi that supports the WJPS community had trouble keeping up with the 600+ students and faculty. There were three days of severe slowdowns prohibiting students and teachers from connecting.
This affected many students’ and teachers’ abilities to work in unison.
Sayed Shah, a senior at WJPS said, “It was really frustrating to try and take online tests in class and not be able to connect to the Internet.”
This connectivity issue forced many students to have to use their phones as hotspots to complete assigned work in class.
Mr. Van Deurs, a science teacher at WJPS said, “It’s not on the students to provide their own Internet, it is on the DOE and the school to provide for them.”
