The largest fundraiser in the history of the Actors Fund was Ratatouille: The Tik Tok Musical. It aired January 1st and had its encore performance on January 10th.
Thanks to very talented Broadway actors, celebrities, and Tik Tok creators, this event brought big smiles to the faces of thousands when people needed to have their spirits lifted.
As Holly Anderson, a senior at WJPS puts it, “People worked very hard to create songs, choreography, and artwork for it and it was very cool to see it be turned into an actual play, if only for a day.”
Viewers paid from $5 to $50 to watch this entertaining streaming show. Tik Tok became a creative outlet for this wonderful musical and helped raise about two million dollars for the Actors Fund.
WJPS junior, Katherine Pappas added, “I would love to see future projects like this. I think it’s a great way to bring people together in a fun and creative way.”
Let’s all tip our chef’s hats to the entire cast. Ratatouille certainly cooked up a storm by combining two super ingredients: entertaining millions and helping out an organization that supports the Broadway community.
