WJPS was established in 2006, and long-term students and teachers have a lot to say about how the school has changed since then.
Senior, Kevin Sosa, who started in sixth grade said, “Everything feels the same to me. The only thing that changed is the people I surround myself with. In middle school, most friend groups, including mine were big. Now it’s a pretty small group.”
“The students are a lot more mellow. We don’t have as many behavioral problems, everyone seems to be getting along. It’s a lot quieter,” said Mr. Tesler, who’s been teaching here since 2006.
High school assistant principal, Mr. Petrotta who’s worked here for 10 years said, “We have more kids leaving now with more college credits than they ever had in the past. Students that we get now are more passionate to set themselves up for the future and are a lot more concerned about their SATs, AP’s and college classes. But one thing WJPS has always had is heart, and that’s been there since the beginning when Ms. Schneider founded it.”
