With the school year in full swing, so are clubs. One of the many clubs here at WJPS is the Environmental Club. The Environmental Club, which is advised by Ms. Mitsiadis, is returning for its third year.
The Environmental Club focuses on recycling around the school. Co-President of the Environmental Club, Adriana Ragoussis goes further into detail about the roles that contribute into the club by saying “We’re going to collect bottles to raise up money for a garden. Members split up, and go into classrooms, to collect plastic bottles and cans. Then, we separate them accordingly. Then, a few people bring the bottles to Food Universe across the street to deposit them.”
The overall goal, in Ragoussis’ opinion, is to “get all the students recycling and get involved in the environment.”
Meetings usually take place in room 354, during sixth period. If you want to get involved in the school and the environment, it’s not too late to join see Ms. Mitsiadis in room 356.
