Born on July 23rd, 1969, Mr. Robert Thompson is an energetic, compassionate, and awesome person, as many of his students describe him.
Not only is he teacher of world history to grades seventh and 11th grade, he is much more.
His friends called him “Hollywood” when he was younger. “I was and still am fun, outgoing and always wanted to be the center of attention,” Mr. Thompson said.
He was the lead singer and guitar player of a ‘wicked’ band at nearby Holy Cross High School. He was an athlete there and received a football scholarship to Kansas State University.
After graduation, Mr. Thompson moved to California for two years. He came back to New York and decided he wanted to rejoin the Californians in 1998.
During that year his sister wanted to go on The Price is Right, a the popular game show. He and his sister auditioned and he made it! After successfully playing in contestants row, one question answered incorrectly bought him what is called a “parting gift.”
With his newly won karaoke machine, he traveled back to New York once again. Years later, he joined the staff at WJPS focusing on history.
