Spirit week kicks off on Monday, January 11th with Pajama Day. Students have a whole week to participate in a variety of entertaining yet school related activities.
“Pajama day is a great idea because since we have a uniform it’s a way we get to express ourselves in a new way. We wear normal clothes outside all the time so wearing our pajamas for pajama day is cool and we can also wear one that describes us,” 7th grader Sasha Romero said.
Pajama Day tends to be the day most students love. Coming into school in pajamas is something out of the ordinary. This year’s spirit week students, and even teachers, get to come dressed to school in their pajamas.
“It’s a good way to bring the school together. I am participating and the best part is that I don’t have to wear uniform,” senior Gillian Paolotti said.
Student government plans the days for spirit week every year. Pajama day has been a tradition here at WJPS and the 2016 graduating class participated enthusiastically.
“I feel like pajama day has been fun and students get to come to school and be comfortable which is amazing. I’m excited because spirit week is a time where we get to be silly with our friends and when we take lots of pictures,” 8th grader Amelia Baffo said.
