Students are eligible to retake the original algebra regents, if they had taken the course before September of 2013. This chance will be given to those students on February 25th.
This is a special administration exam offered by the New York Department of Education [NYCDOE]. The original algebra regents are no longer given, replaced by the common core version.
“I like how their giving me a second chance to pass the test, so it’s beneficial,” senior Dominick Zuzio said.
Students who are not taking the regents will not have to come to school for attendance. Students taking the exam have already received an exam invitation.
“Its great because I already passed the test so it’s just another day off for me,” senior Vincent Casey said.
