makes her own rules and she makes no apologies,” is the beginning of the creed to the famous show Bad Girls Club, and it defines the girls who make up the show.
This show centers around seven girls who are given the name “bad.” The girls are given the name “bad” by the producers who pick them for the show based on the video they sent in for their audition. Season seven, the most recent season of the Bad Girls Club, took place in the famous Mardi Gras state, New Orleans. The show follows around girls who are between the ages of 21-27.
If a “bad girl” breaks the rules, which include hitting another cast member, she will be evicted from the show. The girls who remain until the end have proven to themselves and their viewers that they are the real ‘bad girls,’ because they’ve stood up for what they believe in.
“I think the show is fun, I love the drama and I think the girls are crazy. The message that the show is sending is just have fun and just don’t care what people say. Just do you,” said senior, Bianca Johnson.
To the girls on the show, the term “bad” represents how strong their punches are, as demonstrated by their words and actions, such as fighting and cursing at the other roommates. According to the show, the meaning of “bad” is how strong of a person each girl is, and how they stand for what they believe in.
According to their official website, the girls come from different backgrounds and have different personalities. The girls are brought on the show to change their “bad” behaviors. The members of the cast are asked to maintain and respect the rules that are applied to them before moving into a luxurious mansion and different lifestyle for three months.
“It’s not real. It’s all about drama and no one goes though that in real life. I think it’s a bad influence because its not a real experience,” said freshman, Claudia Michalak.
Throughout the show, the “bad girls” must try to adapt to the frequent changes of moods and behaviors of their roommates. In most cases during the show, the ‘bad girls’ may divide into cliques, create chaos between the girls or book parties in night clubs. They also grocery shop, which they do to try to maintain their personal lives.
Season eight of The Bad Girls Club premieres on January 23, 2012 on Oxygen. Don’t forget to tune in and catch the show.
