Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift surprised one of her Australian fans this past weekend. Twelve year old Jorja Hope was able to see her idol, Swift, live and get VIP passes to meet her backstage.
“She was very, very amazing and very pretty. I didn’t expect her to be as tall as she was,” Hope said.
Hope has “progressive, inner-ear hearing loss” also known as Bilateral Ear Loss, which may cause her to go deaf in the future. She became disheartened knowing she wouldn’t be able to hear her favorite singer ever again.
Hope’s twin sister, Chloe, had started a Facebook group online as well as an online campaign. She used the hashtag #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSyndey to help Hope’s dream come true. Nova 96.9, an Australian radio station, noticed the hashtag and took part in helping set up an opportunity for Hope to meet Swift.
“It’s great that she’s doing such a nice thing for her fans,” junior Elizabeth Browne said.
Both Chloe and Jorja were able to watch the show together at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney. Hope got to take a picture with her idol as well.
