NBA is now on their second week of the basketball season and already it seems like a lot of players are becoming injury prone.
Players such as Terrence Jones, Demarcus Cousins, Arron Afflalo, and Nikola Vucevic are some of the few players who already are missing games due to injuries. It’s become a rough start for NBA fans because All-Star players are now becoming too old to play with such finesse as they used to in their earlier seasons.
“The rookies are out shining the veteran players that played for almost a decade. The rookie Kristaps Porzingis could possibly be rookie of the year if he keeps continuing to score and grab boards as a Power forward,” St. John student Christopher Petronella said
The leaders in the East Coast Conference are the Toronto Raptors with a 5-0 run unlike the far behind east coast Brooklyn Nets with a five game losing streak.
On the West coast of the United States the leading team is last years champions, the Golden State Warriors with a five game winning streak , showing that they are still a strong team and proving their dominance in the NBA league. However, much like the east , the west coast has two teams that have begun a losing streak. New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers are two teams that are starting out slow and are at the bottom of the table in their conference
In other news Derrick Rose is starting out slow in his debut in the Chicago Bulls, however recently defeating the Oklahoma Thunder.Rose puts up 29 points and during the fourth quarter he had scored 14 points.
For the upcoming week the NBA season may pick up as we might see players coming back from the injuries.
