Two years have passed since the release of Trivium’s previous album, Vengeance Falls and countless fans have been anticipating when their next album would be released. Recently after years of built up hype, Trivium finally decided to reveal their new album, Silence In The Snow, and there was a ton of mixed feelings upon publish.
The group Trivium are an American heavy/thrash metal band that have been around since the early 2000’s and were signed to RoadRunner Records in 2004. The band consists of lead singer Matt Heafy, lead guitarist Corey Beaulieu, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and drummer Mat Madiro. They have released seven albums and have been on numerous tours and to multiple events such as Knotfest and Heaven & Hell Metal Fest.
On October 2, 2015 Trivium’s latest album Silence In The Snow was released on iTunes and fans were a bit sceptical. Unlike any other Trivium album, there was a lack of screaming and a lot more clean vocals. This caused a split between the fans where some fans said they were disappointed in the direction they’re headed while others said Matt’s voice has never been better and should continue wherever they feel.
“Trivium has always been a pretty good metal band because of their riffs and screams but this new album needs some getting used to due to the lack of screams, though overall their instrumentals have greatly increased and can’t wait to hear more,”senior Christian Olivo said.
Although there was a lot of controversy, their sales for the album did not suffer. As of right now, some of Trivium’s songs are on the top 10 lists for metal stations such as Spotify, and Pandora. Some of these songs include “Until The World Goes Cold”, “Blind leading the Blind” and “ Down From The Sky”. Their most recent album and others can be seen on Trivium’s Youtube page.
