Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] confirmed that E coli has been found in several Chipotle restaurants that is affecting people’s view on Chipotle.
E coli is a bacteria that causes food poisoning and diseases that can lead to death. Some symptoms include a fever, nausea, and vomiting.
Since October 31, all Chipotle restaurants in Washington state and Oregon are temporarily closed for inspection. As of now, the CDC says that other states have not been affected by the outburst.
“It doesn’t affect me because New York isn’t affected by it. But if the e coli outbreak was here, I would probably be the first to get e coli because I eat chipotle all the time,” physics teacher Ms. Katz said.
Chipotle has done hundreds of test to search for e coli bacteria and have found no signs of e coli; the outbreak of e coli is still unknown.
“This doesn’t really affect me because I don’t always eat chipotle, but it’ll probably affect the reputation of Chipotle because no one wants to get food poisoning after eating chipotle,” junior Kamalpreet Kaur said.
Chipotle restaurants that were closed for inspection will reopen after the e coli bacteria has been cleared.
