Lana Del Rey’s highly anticipated album, Honeymoon, has been released and is sparking controversy among her fans. Honeymoon is the third major-label LP (long playing album) release by Lana Del Rey and her fourth studio album.
The album includes her singles, “High by the Beach” and “Terrence Loves You”. The album is primarily slow-paced, differing from her previous albums. Due to this, Honeymoon is predicted to not reach the same fame as her previous album, Born to Die.
“Lana is so different from other artists nowadays. Her voice and her music is beautiful, I feel like she’s so underrated. Of course, nothing will beat her Born to Die album, but Honeymoon sure is close,” senior Adriana Anez says.
On August 14, Del Rey announced via social media that the album would be released on September 18th. Two days later, she confirmed the track list on her Instagram along with a video that has a vintage filter.
Although most of the music on the album is slow paced, it focuses more on the instrumental aspect, so it definitely deserves a listen. Del Rey is known for her music’s classical and smoothing feel. Her lyrics portray many relatable situations that make it even more enjoyable.
“I love Lana in general and I think her new album is truly beautiful,” freshman Ashley Moreno says.
Although Lana’s most recent album is a different sound to her previous albums, it has to be one of her most innovative albums yet.
