Last May, students who wanted to be in the National Honor Society [NHS] submitted an application and essay to Ms. Paplow, to be considered as a member of the National Honors’ society.
Students that were selected to become members of the National Honor Society will be inducted on September 30, 2015. The National Honor Society Induction ceremony is a long standing tradition in the process of becoming a member. The inductees must go to the candle lighting ceremony and take on the oath.
“I’m so excited for the inductees to become official members so we can all work together and serve the community,” NHS President Alyssa Striano said.
At the ceremony, each inductee will receive a pin and a certificate stating that they are apart of the
National Honor Society.
“I’m very excited to become a member and I can’t believe I actually got accepted,” inductee of NHS/ senior Heejin Kim said.
For students interested in becoming apart of NHS, the next time to apply will be May 2016.
The students applying will need to speak to Ms. Paplow so she can provide them with the application.
Those applying will have to write an essay and get three teacher recommendations and have at least 85% average.
