Even after four years, it seems Finney cannot escape his past.
On October 17th, Mason Thames and Ethan Hawke returned to theaters in The Black Phone 2.
Finney, played by Mason Thames, was a 13 year old boy who was abducted by The Grabber, played by Hawke in the first movie, Black Phone. After killing him and escaping, Finney became the sole surviving victim.
However, in the new movie The Grabber transcends death, becoming even stronger than before.
In a last attempt to stop him, Finney and his sister find themselves at a camp, but they quickly become trapped by a blizzard.
Now Finney is forced to face him once again to protect himself and his younger sister.
WJPS 11th grader Marina Melissinos stated, “I was excited to see that they released a sequel to the movie. At first I didn’t know how they could continue it from the ending of the first movie, but the writers were able to create a unique and interesting plot line that made sense within the context.”
WJPS 12th grader Giselle Nuñez added, “I was so excited for the release of the movie. As someone who enjoys the fear and thrill horror movies give me, I can’t wait to watch it in theaters.”
