At World Journalism Preparatory School there is a uniform policy. All students must wear at least one piece of clothing with the school logo.
The tops at WJPS are supposed to be black, blue, yellow, navy, and white. For the girls, skirts should be below their fingertips.
Boys aren’t allowed to have their boxers visible.
WJPS 10th grader Paula Ortega stated, “I think the school is unfair with everyone within the uniform policy.”
She claimed that a multitude of students in our school don’t get checked for dress code and can wear anything they want.
She also expressed how uniforms can be pretty expensive, stating that a black hoodie with the logo is 30 dollars.
Another student from WJPS 10th grader Ambriana Melendez, said dressing down helps her express what kind of a person she is.
She stated, “Dressing the way you like to dress feeds the soul.”
WJPS dean Ms. McCloskey said, “The problem I have with uniforms is kids only wear them on gym days.”
