Seniors at WJPS returned for their fourth and final year in high school. However, upon returning back to school they were met with a disappointing change.
This year at WJPS, seniors are finding themselves without lockers.
This change, one that was described as a “logistical decision” by WJPS technology specialist Mr. Myrtil raises several important questions about student life at school.
WJPS 12th grader Robert Mirashi said, “I don’t understand the reasoning behind it, don’t seniors always have lockers?”
Many seniors are understandably complaining about having to haul their belongings with them the entire day as it can get tedious, including during gym class when students have to pile all their belongings onto the bleachers.
WJPS 12th grader Joseph Larocca said, “Honestly I feel disrespected, I’ve been in this school since sixth grade and not one year have I been without a locker. In my opinion, it’s a necessity. What happens during the winter? Are we going to be stuck walking around with our coats?”
One solution could be utilizing lockers inside the classrooms.
