As the school year begins, the very difficult question pops up for anyone who drives their own car, “Where will I park my car?”
Students and teachers who don’t find a parking spot close to the school will have to walk as much as a mile before reaching its perimeter.
The thought that a student and/or teacher could be late because of a parking mishap is ridiculous.
Sometimes people have no choice but to park in bus stops, by fire hydrants, and in front of driveways.
This has led to the issue of an announcement being played throughout the whole school that someone’s car is being towed.
To fix the problem with parking, WJPS could reconstruct half of the main courtyard.
We could use this space of the other half as a reserved parking lot.
WJPS teacher Ms. Koza stated, “I park wherever, it’s so much easier to park since instructional parking is gone, but at my house there’s no designated spot on the streets so I park in the same spot if I can get it.”
WJPS 12th grader Anika Narula said, “I would say parking affects students’ performance in school by how they don’t want to park so close to school and how there’s no spots near the school.”
