Video game scholarship recipients are in need of two skills. One, having strong gaming skills, and the other being academically excellent.
Having strong gaming skills is an essential to have if your career is going to be based on gaming.
Universities such as Robert Morris University, The University of Utah, and NYU are among the many schools that offer such programs.
Games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, and League of Legends have tournaments that people online around the world can compete in.
Strong gaming skills are important when it comes to tournaments because if you compete and win, showcasing your achievements to colleges with Esports programs can earn you a scholarship to their school.
Academic excellence is another important factor to have leading into video gaming scholarships.
Having a good GPA is what a student needs to show their gaming skills to a college Esports program.
Colleges need to see students’ GPA so they are aware that gaming doesn’t impact their studies.
